Since 2013, our successful winter charity campaign "Suppe mit Sinn" (Soup with a Meaning) has offered numerous well-known restaurants, cafés and other gastronomic establishments in Berlin the opportunity to support the charitable work of the Berliner Tafel.

The principle is simple: the participating restaurant chooses a soup or other dish on its menu to become its "Suppe mit Sinn". When a guest orders this dish, one euro is donated to the Berliner Tafel. The money will then be used to support the daily food collection of the Berliner Tafel for soup kitchens and homeless shelters during the harsh wintertime.

Whether it's a family celebration, a romantic dinner or an office Christmas party - by participating in “Suppe mit Sinn” restaurants and guests can pair a good meal with a good deed.

Originally the Wiener Tafel (Vienna food bank) came up with the “Suppe mit Sinn” idea and has been successfully running this campaign for several years.

To quote Nobelhart & Schmutzig's Juliane Winkler and Billy Wagner: "Why do we participate in Soup with a Meaning? Because it's the appropriate thing to do."
