What kind of food do we collect?

Did you know that in Berlin 20% of all the food is thrown away? The Tafel-societies rescue excess food which, according to legal requirements, is still good and edible and give it to needy persons. Only food that is fresh, in good condition and edible, and that meets the legal requirements will be accepted as a donation. Volunteers trained in the proper handling of food check each food donation regarding its ability to be used as a donation before accepting and distributing it.

Parties and Receptions

Did the catering firm deliver too much food so that much of it is left over? Provided that you notify us one to two days prior to your function, we can come at any time, day or night, to collect the excess food. But please remember: It is essential for our planning that you let us know in advance.

Canteen food

You could ask the canteen staff in your firm whether they have any food left over at the end of the day. Call us. We collect and distribute the food.
