Our volunteers

The Berliner Tafel e.V. was founded by women dedicated to community work. And still today the hundreds of voluntary workers are the heart of our society. They, as well as the active and passive members and our honorary members of staff work hard every day to accomplish all these important tasks that the Berliner Tafel e.V. has set itself.
They are doing this for one reason: to help people in need.

Our volunteers come from all sectors of the local society: office workers, civil servants, business owners, job seekers, pensioners and university students.

60% of our volunteers are women and an impressive 40% are men. To have such a high percentage of men participating in a community project is something very special. However, our volunteers also come from very differerent age groups, ranging from age 18 to 92.
